Emma Maynard Family Research

Welcome! My name is Dr Emma Maynard and I am a Lecturer in Child & Family Health at King’s College London, where I research and teach about children, families and the services who support them.

I became an academic in 2010, following 15 years working in the 3rd sector and for local authorities. In this part of my career I developed young carers services and became an Integrated Services Manager, helping families at a stage of early help and prevention. I now research with, and teach about, the families I used to support on the front line.

My research is about stories; the stories we share about ourselves, our families, and our experiences.
